AIM Annual Letter
Friday, August 15, 2019
To our valued current clients, former clients, friends, business associates, and followers:
Happy summer! It is an honor to be writing you to share good news. August 1, 2019 marked two years of occupancy in our current office and the official opening of AIM. It also signifies approximately 13 years that we have been offering exercise services in Northern Virginia. It has been a fantastic 12 months here at AIM, and we would like to share the following highlights with you:
Education. Continuing education has always been, and continues to be, a priority so that we can offer the highest level of service. Michelle and Chris traveled twice to Colorado this past year to attend the Muscle Activation Techniques Mastery level training for the Upper Body and the Trunk & Spine. They also traveled twice to Oklahoma to begin the Mastery level training for the Resistance Training Specialist program. Closer to home, both attended a day long course on Bioenergetics from Precision Human Performance’s BioAcademics Program. Michelle also attended a full day course on Fall Prevention for Older Adults also from the BioAcademics located in Chicago. Finally, Michelle spent two days with neuroscientist, Jacques Taylor attending his Neuro-Logic Training course where she was able to use surface EMGs to study muscle activity during exercise.
In the Community. AIM was out in the community this year presenting at various women’s organizations about how to incorporate exercise to improve health. Michelle worked with a local U14 boys soccer team on injury prevention and participated for the 4th year in a row at the “Girls + Science = Success” STEM program for middle school girls in Prince William County. Chris was asked to the lead the warm-up at the annual Parkinson's Foundation Walk-Off held in Nationals Ball Park where he introduced the participants to his boxing program. This year, AIM was also introduced to the rapidly growing sport of Pickleball and is looking forward to working with the local Woodbridge chapter in the coming year!
Self Defense. AIM’s Self Defense program continues to grow as word spreads. In February, six women graduated from our intermediate program after a month of scratches, hair pulling, and bear hugs. They now join an elite group of women who have completed the 4 week program making them eligible to attend all future classes for life. This June, AIM partnered with Ragnar Relay, a national running organization to offer a Self Defense for Runners class. The event was a huge success with 17 participants who not only learned self defense tactics but walked away with goodie bags and awesome prizes. Our partnership continues with Ragnar and more community and business partnerships are in the works. Keep your eyes out for a new and exciting self defense offering this fall!
New Faces. In December, AIM brought on board soon-to-be Registered Dietician Samantha Fleischmann Christy who is offering personalized nutrition advice to compliment the exercise at AIM. We are very excited to continue our partnership with her and offer a more expanded nutrition program in the year ahead! We love celebrating our clients’ success so this year we inducted our first client into our Hall of Fame. Cindy Ardecki’s inspirational story is one of perseverance and preparation. We can’t wait to see who will enter the hall of fame this year! Finally, if you’ve visited us this summer, you may have met our intern, Michael who is considering a career in exercise science. He has been a great addition to our team this year and we look forward to hosting more students in the future.
Content, Content, Content. We continue to put out content multiple times each week on each of our various platforms, including our blog, Instagram, and Facebook pages. If you are not following us on these platforms, make sure to do so to stay updated with what is going on at AIM and to learn many of the exercise tips and tricks we use!
With a prosperous year behind us, we are busy planning for another fruitful year ahead. We will be implementing a 5% cost of living price increase for all clients beginning on September 1, 2019. For all current monthly clients, the new price will go into effect at the end of the current contract. All clients will also be required to re-sign a new liability form as well as the personal training policy & disclosure form to keep on file.
A few friendly reminders:
Sessions are 55 minutes or 25 minutes in length.
24 hour notice is required for cancellation or you will be charged the full amount.
All 5 packs will expire within 3 months.
Thank you for allowing us to serve you over the past 12 months. We look forward to continuing to help you improve your health through exercise for years to come.
Sincerely,
Michelle & Chris Viggiano
